Catlin Arctic Survey 2011
Co-presenting with Simon was a motion-tracked 3D animation of a section of the Arctic
In it's 3rd year of sponsorship Catlin wanted to create a film that served multiple purposes. Communicate to its staff, provide content for its schools education programme and achieve media value via viral channels.
Explaining what the Atlantic Thermohaline Circulation was, what it does, why its important and what would happen if it stopped required serious expertise. Hence our procurement of the World's leading scientist on the subject and regular BBC/CNN science expert to front the piece.
But pictures talk louder than words, so co-presenting with Prof. Simon was a motion-tracked 3D animation of a section of the Arctic, communicating the process as simply as possible.
The entire concept and all production was handled in house and final output included a 10 minute internal DVD, a 20 minute schools programme and a 2min You Tube film which was seeded to key news titles and achieved over 100K hits in 3 weeks.
